Hi and welcome to my blog!
I am not a fitness professional, let me just put that out there first. However, I’ve been running most of my life and feel I can give some good advice and encouragement so you can learn from my mistakes. I started running in high school because I wasn’t athletic or coordinated enough to join any organized school sport. So, I started running, first around the streets in my neighborhood and then began participating in local 5K’s. I never ran anything longer than 3.1 miles, until…….. The Disneyland Half Marathon in 2009. Since then I’ve been hooked. I’ve done nearly 100 half marathons and a dozen full marathons, including Chicago and Portland. In January 2018, I completed my first Dopey Challenge at Walt Disney World!
To support my running addiction, especially those spendy runDisney races, I’ve started my own line of Disney inspired Princess aprons. They are all hand cut and hand sewn by yours truly. You can view them on my Glass Slipper website: www.glass-slipper-creations.com. Currently I sell them at local craft shows, but I’m open to shipping if you see one you can’t live without.
I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in the State of Washington. I have great friends and family that inspire me every day to be the best version of me that I can be. I don't know what I'd do without them and their amazing support. I’m not afraid to dress up in a crazy costume to run a race and 3:30am is my favorite time of the day, because that’s when I’m usually running on the treadmill. Caffeine is also my friend.
In December of 2022 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, not in just one but both breasts. Being the overachiever that I am, I had two different types of cancer in each breast. Don’t be sad, this is a success story. February 1, 2023 I underwent a double mastectomy followed by reconstructive surgery on May 15, 2023. I am overjoyed to announce that I am cancer free today.
On my blog, I want to share some of my stories as I run, eat, sew and inspire you to be the best you there is! Join me in discovering new places and races!
